Bristol has become the hub of national cycle routes and home to Sustrans - Britain's leading sustainable transport charity.

Bristol has an extensive cycling infrastructure with cycle routes on almost all its major roads, and there are plenty of places to lock up your bike, over 300 cycle parking spaces and free-to-use bike pumps around the city, making cycling a great way to explore the city.

Bristol and surrounding areas has something for every cyclist. There are beautiful riverside country trails for the weekend and an extensive network of city centre cycle lanes for commuters. Just across the Severn estuary and into Wales opens up access to amazing trails and cycliung centres such as Cwmcarn

Better by Bike is the comprehensive cycling website for Bristol, Bath, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire. It includes regional cycle maps and routes, information on bike hire, cycle shops and workshops, cycling clubs and bike events, plus much more.

​

Sustrans is Britain's leading sustainable transport charity and their website has detailed maps of the National Cycle Network in and around Bristol, including some of the most well-loved routes, such as the Festival Way, Bristol and Bath Railway Path and The Strawberry Line.

Cycle Streets is another useful route planning and mapping website, Cycle Streets also has a free app that available for iPhone, Andriod, Blackberry 10, Windows Phone and mobile web (HTML5)

​

North Somerset has some fantastic cycling routes including this Cinema and Film route through Clevedon, which takes you to many of the filming locations in Broadchurch, ITV1’s award-winning crime drama starring David Tennant and Olivia Coleman.
